Bank J. Safra Sarasin reinforces leadership in sustainability
On June 14, 2018, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, the Global Compact Network Switzerland (GCNS) launched the “Tour de Suisse” to promote Corporate Responsibility and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Switzerland. Bank J. Safra Sarasin is a member of the GCNS and is participating in this important initiative.
The “Tour de Suisse” will take place until 2022 across many different cantons of Switzerland. Its objective is to share how small and large Swiss Companies are leading in responsible and sustainable business, championing the United Nations’ SDGs across their operations. It will also build dialogue and awareness to accelerate responsible and sustainable business practices across Switzerland from Small & Medium companies to Multinationals.
To showcase how “Sustainable Business is Smart Business”, Bank J. Safra Sarasin and three other leading Swiss sustainable companies – Firmenich, Caran d’Ache and Nestlé Waters – are put under the spotlight in a documentary film. This explores how the companies’ commitment to sustainable operations can create opportunities for innovation and valuable business models while mitigating risks and overcoming challenges.
We believe our membership of GCNS, the "Tour de Suisse" and the documentary reinforces the Bank’s continuous commitment to sustainable investing and the way the Bank runs its own business. Indeed, the Group operates with the same qualities and strengths which have ensured its longevity and performance across many generations: stable family ownership, exceptional financial strength, conservative risk management and deep personal client relationships.
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. The Bank is proud to have been a pioneer in the field of sustainable investments since 1989.
