Bank J. Safra Sarasin today announced that, as part of a reorganization of the Group Executive Board, Daniel Belfer has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer and Oliver Cartade as Head of Trading, Treasury & Asset Management Division and member of the Group Executive Board. Current CEO Edmond Michaan will take on a new role as Head of Group Strategy at the Bank and at the larger J. Safra Group, including real estate, other private investments and as future member of the board of Chiquita.
Daniel Belfer is currently responsible for the Trading, Treasury and Asset Management Division and member of the Group Executive Board of Bank J. Safra Sarasin Ltd. Daniel Belfer has worked for different entities of the J. Safra Group since 2000. He has a Bachelor in Sciences in Business Administration with concentration in Finance and Operations Management from Questrom School of Business, Boston University, Boston, USA and is also a CFA Charterholder.
Oliver Cartade is currently the General Manager at Bank J. Safra Sarasin (Gibraltar) – London Branch and Managing Director at J. Safra Sarasin Asset Management (Europe) Limited. He brings over 20 years of experience in various financial sectors to his role at J. Safra Sarasin. Prior to the J. Safra Group, Oliver Cartade worked in investment banking at Kaufman Bros. LP where he focused on M&A and private equity transactions. He began his career as a financial analyst at Prudential Securities in the investment banking division. Oliver Cartade graduated magna cum laude from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics and received an MBA from INSEAD. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
These changes are effective from 1 November 2019.
